Thought of the Day- Hellboy II
Hellboy II: The Golden Army was awesome. The story wasn’t that strong, and the flip-flopping between action/love/comedy (like the first movie) made for a very disjointed “vibe” throughout.
But none of that mattered. What matters was the visuals. The ideas. The sound.

Slowly falling golden leaves in an elven court… *sigh*
I’m quickly becoming a Guillermo del Toro fanboy, but I think I’m not exaggerating when I say the movie was “beautiful”. That’s not a word I throw around very much (actually, at all), so that should give you a sense of exactly what I think.
Why do I like his visuals so much? Because they remind me of the freaky Fantasy-meets-SciFi-meets-Insanity dreams that I have all the time, and have had since I was little…
Besides being totally awesome, of course. This is what the original Hellboy should have looked like, if the studios had let del Toro complete his vision. We owe Pan’s Labryinth our gratitude…
