New Form of SPAM

Twice in the last week I've received what is apparently a new form of SPAM...  No, I haven't received early samples to the new SPAM-with-marshmallows product.  I'm talking about email SPAM.

Someone named "Mrs. Mariana Madimbo" sent me a an article from the NYTimes, apparently using the "Send to a Friend" feature.

I've now gotten two exactly like this, but I'm not sure of the point.  Is "she" expecting me to think she's legitimate by not emailing me directly?  And is she expecting me to email her back after receiving this, and fall into her very see-through scam?

Laughable.
