I found this blog after being highly irritated by consumerist. I read their blog religiously and registered to comment. They banned me from being able to comment because what I submitted was not “creative enough”. I had the nerve to reply to someone saying “I agree”. Just finished up sending Roz an email about what I believe they need to add to their Comment Code (for example, the barometric pressure must be 78%) and pointing out their hypocrisy. A blog that fights for equal consumer rights yet is highly prejudiced against those people not deemed creative by the I'm-on-a-powertrip Roz. Informed them I will no longer be reading their blog. They just lost a long time reader as well.

I stumbled on this blog posting after being frustrated at not being able to post comments on Consumerist articles as a newly registered user. I've followed their commenting 'code', and provided cogent comments on a number of articles, including concise descriptions of stock shorting, brokerage fees, etc, but somehow NONE of my comments ever seem to get posted. I just started googling to see if I was alone in this, and if there were any tips for getting one's comments approved. Apparently not. It seems they have their favorites, who, I might add, routinely violate the code.

BTW, I'm adding your feed to my reader.

Well...

a) I phrased it the way I did on purpose to get a certain kind of reaction from them.
b) I could find ways around it very easily, but by doing so I'd be giving them pageviews, comments, RSS reader count, etc. All of which I don't want to do after how I've been treated. But don't think I hadn't thought of those or more nefarious solutions ;-)

Well I'm kind of divided on your situation. I don't like your comment “bitches 24/7″. They DO have a lot of great stories, maybe you and I don't agree with all of them. On the other hand, they have not covered leads I have sent them either, and also, they have blocked some of my comments I felt were reasonable.

Anywho, you can get around this by posting directly from facebook – they don't seem to censor those at all, or even delay them. (Guess Roz hasn't caught on to that yet, don't tell her.)

You could also just create multiple accounts and submit things multiple ways until some get through – if you are serious enough to get your stuff on there.
