The important word in Alfred Nobel's intent is "work." You can not look at this award through the lens of what "work" he has done in the last nine months. You have to look at it through the lens of what "work" he had done when he was nominated, which happened Feb 1st, 13 days after he took office. He had done nothing.

It reeks of the partisan nature in which the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded as of late. Mind you one of the key reasons they sighted for his nomination was his stance on nuclear proliferation. If their concern was about nuclear proliferation they may have noticed that the global stockpile of nuclear arms fell by half under the Bush administration. In no way am I saying Bush deserves the NPP but to give it to someone who at the time of nomination had accomplished nothing more than happy sounding rhetoric cheapens the entire award.

If I had to bet I would wager Obama wishes his name had never been mentioned in the nomination process. This very well may become a straight jacket. You say that he is unfairly attacked by the likes of Fox News. I would suggest you read the great number of op-ed columns in the liberal havens of the media, criticizing both this award and his presidency thus far. Obama is not being attacked purely from an unfair right, the attacks are coming equally from a dissatisfied left, which has found itself less and less fulfilled by rhetoric and more and more starved for results.

It cannot be denied that the world has entered a new golden era of economic and social justice. An era of peace led by and made possible by President Obama.

President Obama is the son of Kings and Queens who ruled over the greatest civilizations in human history. The world waited a long time for the arrival of Obama. We did not always know what his name would be or what he would look like but we knew a son of Africa would return to restore light to the world.

President Obama is of such character that always sees a task to it's completion. He has an extraordinary spirit of inquiry such that he will always find the most wise course of action. He loathes greed and hate and he treasures truth and justice.

It is natural and is the destiny of historical truth that he leads us today.
